Dockside Village of the 1000 Islands, once a dream, now will soon be underway. With word that construction will be resuming in the coming months, those of us dedicated to the project are getting the buzz. It's been a long winter, but the news of a much anticipated return-to-work date instills a fire inside us that could melt the snow. If only that could be! Anyhow, to those who are going to keep an eye on this project, DON'T BLINK!!!, with all the enthusiasm and stored energy from the winter months, this building should be up in no time.
And so Dockside Resorts remains silent under a blanket of the North Country's insulation. It is a quiet time of year for not only the condos, but for the entire community of Morristown. It's amazing how just 15 years ago, the river out front was always frozen by now and filled with the shacks of Ice Fishers, tracks from the various snowmobiles, and even a few full sized trucks. These days past used to enjoy snowmobile races, fishing derbies, hockey games on the river, and the building of magnificent snow sculptures. Today, we see open water, flat as glass, but unfortunately - not a sheet of ice. What's happened to our "Winter Wonderland"?
